Derek spent 17 years in New York City in real estate and hospitality — two service-driven industries that shaped his relationship-first approach. As a top-producing broker with Douglas Elliman and a member of the award-winning Ariel Cohen team, he was involved in hundreds of millions of dollars in luxury transactions.
In Seattle, he sold more than $300 million at SPIRE before joining NOBU Residences Bellevue in April 2026. His work has been recognized by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.
Originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, and raised in Ohio, Derek wrestled for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He lives in Seattle with his wife, two sons and daughter, and is an Ironman triathlete.
